Now... I do have moments of compassion, though they are rare. But I read a post by ShamanGirl and felt inclined to respond with a comment that was slightly less of a flame. Maybe I'm going soft? Anyways, she has her comments screened so I don't know if it will actually make it to her journal or not so I'm posting it here.
Normally I don't go into a person's livejournal and leave comments, but I saw this one and, for some reason unbeknownst to me, felt inclinated to respond. Now this is merely my opinion, and the intent of it is to clear up a few things that I found to be seen in very different lights. It's not my intent to stir up shit, but if I did, well then that is an additional point for me, as I could use a good chuckle.
I, for one, don't see how one could see it as seceding from a fight merely because they don't respond to a comment that is a pitiful attempt to enrage them, especially when that was the original purpose for even mentioning Nebris. And basing intellect on how large one's database of quotes is hardly what I would call an accurate depiction. Now I understand that in this particular case Nebris didn't regurgitate any tired quotes but it would appear that he took some (albeit minor) offense to the fact that a seperate Phreak2000 user stated his opinion that Machiavelli was an existentialist, then to go as far as to laugh at using Van instead of Von for Goethe. I'll even include the quote <i>"It's von, hoseboy; 'van' is Dutch and nobody who knows anything uses the 'von' for him anyway."</i> Such a statement, in my personal opinion, is a clear sign of psuedo-intellect if I've ever seen one. Has it ever crossed Nebris' mind that the use of Van was intentional to show just how little GoAT cares about your philosophers?
As for the comments about "Fat/Stupid/Lazy" being repeatedly used, I'll have to refer to my previous point that the sole intent of mentioning the both of you was to get a rise out of you and to entertain ourselves. Why should we invest extra time into insulting you when we really don't care enough about you to do so. And as a counternote, your responses aren't exactly filled with originality either; and I wouldn't expect any more than that, as you probably care about us as little as we care about you. Using insults stating that we are young, bottled up individuals forced to conform into our seperate worlds that we live in is hardly any better. And with Nebris somehow sex and sexuality is always brought into the conversation, such as with the comment above mine.
And yes, we are shit disturbers, but we only start the ripples, it's our lovely "fans" such as yourself that extend the ripples further. Merely insinuating that Lucid, GoAT or Myself have plans on featuring triplesix on Phreak2000 starts riling up mutual friends that you and this person may have. And friends riling up friends is definately a larger, deeper bucket of drama than if a complete stranger was to do so. So kudos on that.
And to clear up any confusion for myself, I guess I might as well throw everything out into the open for you.
I'm 23, I'm not a virgin (Sorry Nebris, I know you were hoping to use that insult on me), I have a full-time job, I am not a drain on society and/or its resources, and I do not, nor do I need to, censor myself in "real life". I don't insult people to make myself feel better about myself, or my job, or anything that pertains to my life. I do, however, insult people because I am bored and enjoy seeing their agitated responses.
I would like to thank you for the amusement that you have provided to both myself, and the other users of Phreak2000 and in closing I will leave with a final question.
How does having a cult of feminist man-killing cyber-witches work when it's founder is male? Just curious.
Sincerely;
-Enmity
